Everyone was full after the CARD BUFFET!!

I hosted my very first Card Buffet on the weekend!
I prepped 16 cards for the ladies coming to stamp.  Phew!  What a week and a half!
I have four lovely stampers come over to stamp a stack of 8 cards (with envelopes) and they had some fun!
We all love to get together create, munch and chat.  It was lovely.
Although 8 were included in the price the ladies were welcome to make as many as they liked and some did do just that.

For this event (and all of them from now until July-ish) I will had my BOGO table all ready to go!
I have gathered all of my retiring product (stamps, paper, ink, embellishments, etc) and priced them up.  When someone places a catalogue order, I let them get a BOGO item of the same price.  YAY!  Stamping goodies for all!
Very pleased that all of my stampers were able to give some of my BOGO product a new home.
If I can no longer use it, I am glad that someone else can!

Here are the cards that I prepped for the Card Buffet;
I tried my best to give them LOTS of variety.  Birthday (male/female), thank you (male/female), Christmas, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, and a couple of just generic cards that they could stamp with greetings.
I was very pleased to hear that my stampers were all able to find what they were looking for.  They were also pleases that they all didn't have to do the same ones like other stamp a stacks.  One didn't do any Christmas cards, another made two of the Fathers Day cards, etc.
Here is the buffet (literally the buffet in my dining room! lol) ready to go!
The table is all set for the stamping fun.
I gave them each a grid paper, order form (for all those BOGO's!) a class list, and a ticket!!  Door prizes are fun!!!
I had some drinks (hot/cold) a veggie tray and of course whipped up a batch of sugar cookies stamped with the Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps!!  LOVE THOSE!
I set up my BOGO table in my craft room.  More room to stamp for us all (and ALL THOSE CARDS!) in the dining room and that left plenty of shopping room in here!  Look at all those goodies!!!! That box on the end (in the left corner) that is FULL of card stock and DSP all bagged up and ready to go!

So there you have it!  My very first Card Buffet!
I have them scheduled for every month (at the end of the month).  Check out my FACEBOOK PAGE or my STAMPIN' UP! page for details and to RSVP.
Every month I take away 8 of the cards and make 8 new ones to take their place.  That way it always stays FRESH!!

Happy Stampin'!!

IT'S HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The second list that all Stampin' UP! stampers have been waiting for!

The Retiring Accessories List is HERE!!!!!!
Don't panic.  It is LONG.
Don't panic.  There is a lot we have to say goodbye to.
DON'T PANIC.  The ink pads are not gone...just being reconfigured.

I am overwhelmed.  Bit frustrated...but I always get that way when I first see the list.  I am excited about the new ink pads.  Can't wait to try them.  I am not surprised by the 12x12 card stock...I have never purchased a pack.  I am a bit shocked by the Bit Shot stuff I am "losing" but VERY EXCITED because that means they must have LOTS OF NEW STUFF COMING!
The DSP and the ribbon tend to retire every year so don't be shocked by that.  I am sure there are TONS of new patterns awaiting us in JUNE!!

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!  I am SO excited!

Big thing to remember....ORDER NOW!!   These items are first come first serve and won't be offered again once they run out.  If you see ANY favorites, must haves or things you NEED to stock up on before they are gone head on over to my ON LINE STORE NOW!

Mother's Day...it is just around the corner!!

My son loves to stamp!  That makes me one Happy Stampin' Momma!
He sees me stamping all the time and wants to join in.
He knows about my classes and clubs and always asks what we are making.
So when he decided he wanted to do some stamping I thought why not?!?!
We were able to help him narrow down a theme and then projects.
We were leaving it pretty open creatively but realized he got overwhelmed with all Stampin' UP! has to offer so
I helped him narrow down a design for a card, a candle and a coaster to hold the candle.
He knew that I would have to help him with all things heat gun and he seemed okay with that.  He was just happy to be using "Mommy's stamps."

Our son has his own Facebook page and you can find it HERE
His theme was MOTHER'S DAY.
Here are some photos of him working his magic!
These are his first two cards.
Once we had decided on his theme we were able to get all the pieces ready for his card and this is a photo of him assembling all those pieces.
Here are two of his masterpieces.
We used all the colours that you find in the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper from Stampin' UP! in the Occassions mini.  (only 1 more week left to order from that MINI!)
Why Blogger turns these images on me is beyond me!  Sorry for the sideways photo!

Here are all the pieces ready to be made into gift packs.  In doing this blog post I am realizing that we took A LOT more video of this process than photos.  I was looking for this pics of him doing up his coasters and stamping the images for his candles...but they are all video.  I think they are uploaded on his Facebook Page
We have hand stamped candles sitting on a hand stamped coaster to gift along with a hand stamped card.
ALL FOR MOM!
Here is our man with his special creations.  He is so proud!  And WE are so proud of HIM!
He was even given the opportunity to attend an entrepreneurial expo last week.  He had a spot at the Kidpreneur Booth.  He did an amazing job!  Very professional...for a 6 year old!  Here he is at the expo.

If you still need a gift for MOM for Mother's Day (coming up SUNDAY MAY 13th!!) then get in touch with us!  We have 6 gift packs left for sale.  We even made a few extra cards so if you need a GORGEOUS HAND STAMPED Mother's Day card then contact us today!

My Digital Studio

I have had the My Digital Studio software for a couple of years now.
I play on it.
I try my hand at projects.
However I will fully admit that I get easily overwhelmed with it and end up with half finished projects.

I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of drag and drop projects (pages, cards and scrapbook albums).  I have some full albums that all I have to do it drag and drop my photos in, do up some notes for the photos and PRESTO! ...awesome scrap album that will WOW!

I have done a few class calendars on there and two blog headers.  I am trying my best to take time to figure it out.  I think I am coming along well!  *toot, toot* (yup that was my horn!)

Well today, while getting frustrated that I couldn't do what I wanted to do with my current class calendar (I said I was getting better...I am so NOT there yet!)  I found a card in the Summer Smooches download bundle.  Well!  Yay!  I did one up (rhinestones and everything are MDS) and attached it to some Island Indigo card stock.  Love it!

While I will say that it isn't the same as a tried and true hand stamped card it is pretty DARN AWESOME!  I love it!  It isn't meant to take the place of completely hand stamped cards!  It makes wonderful cards all on its own!  I can't wait to play around with the card templates and see if I can design one that is completely my own.

I will definitely share when it is done.  :-)

Butterflies are my THANG!

Just playing around the other day and had to share this card.
Lots of layers, not something I normally do.
Nice and vintage-y (is that a word?lLOL) Again not something I normally do. I am a clean line kinda girl.

However butterflies are my THANG. My signature so to speak and I fell in love with this little stamp set when the Stampin' UP! catalogue came out last July. It has always been a set that fell to the bottom of my "must have" list though. You can imagine my excitement when I saw it featured this this years Sale-A-Bration catalogue. WAHOO! I got this set for FREE!

Here is my creation...

"It's just a jump to the left....

...and then you step to the right!"
Okay so the Rocky Horror quote and singing is done, onto the stamping!

Why you may ask am I quoting this most AWESOME movie?
Because I made my very first Side Step Card this morning!
Two actually.  I love to double up!  I mean, hey, you have to cut the sheet of card stock in half to get the one card....you might as well make another.  EVERYONE can use more cards!
:-)

So here is the link for Split Coast Stamper.  AMAZING resource!  You must bookmark this page.
This is where I found the directions for the card itself.

I am loving my Everyday Enchantment DSP lately (and using it without a care because now it is gone!  Sale-A-Bration is over and I can no longer demo with it.  So it is MINE all MINE! LOL)
I also wanted to break in my Tea Shoppe set.  *happy*

Here is what my creative juices gave me this morning...
Of course I just HAD to make matching envelopes!!  If you have read any of my previous posts you will know how excited I am about the Simply Scored and the NEW Diagonal Score plate!!  *grin*

I have a bunch of card stock cut into more Side Step Cards and I can't wait to play!
Happy Stamping!

A stamping day.

I love to stamp!  *happy grin*
So does my son!  *even happier grin*

I sit here Sunday night and it is the end of our Easter long weekend.  We all have "things to do" on Monday. BAH!
Oh well!  Friday we were all at home (I love saying that!) and my Monster wanted to stamp.  "Can we stamp up now Mommy?"  What else could I say..."SURE!"

I started my stamping with my son, however I was able to sneak in and out of my stamp room ALL DAY!  It was delightful and something I haven't been doing in a LONG TIME.

So here are the creations I was able to make on our wonderfully relaxing Friday off.  Enjoy!
My Monster and I started out stamping with the Twitterpated Suite.  LOVE IT!  I can't say that I am a "flowery" girl, but I really enjoy this paper.  My Monster is creating and selling his very own Mother's Day gift sets.  You can check him out here.
 https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jack-of-All-Trades/185567454887799

Next I moved onto the Summer Smooches Suite.  OMG I am in love.  The bright colours!  The paper!  The FABRIC BRADS!  WOWZERS!
Different ribbon....thoughts?  I think I like the Lucky Limeade best.
Then I was moving onto the Everyday Enchantment suite.  I didn't get to place with this one too much DURING SAB but did earn some goodies close to the end so I am really JUST getting to play with it full force now.  I really like the colour combo in this suite.  Bold colours with subtle ones, the flower patterns, vintagy feel.  *happy*  Even made envelopes to match these cards with the DIAGONAL SCORE PLATE. LOVE LOVE LOVE this tool!!!
Paper on different sides....cut the strip all from one sheet but realized it had to go "right side up" Those crowns can't be up side down!  (can we say CDO??)

Happy Stamping!!

Summer Smooches Class

I had the privilege of stamping one-on-one with one of my best customers, best stampers and very good friend.  Although it was a small class we had TONS of fun!!

I had some tea/coffee and cookies on hand to munch.  I used the Sugared Shortbread recipe that came with the Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps.  They are a hit!   I am impressed with the flower stamp...came out so crisp and clear.  If you don't already have a set of these, head on over to my online store and grab a set, they are AWESOME!

Here is a photo of the projects we made last weekend.
We started with the bookmark.
Then we moved onto the Lucky Limeade flower card.
We are both IN LOVE with the new Daffodil Delight seam binding!!!
Then we made the Rich Razzleberry card followed by the purse to match.
SO HAPPY about the PETITE PURSE DIE for the Big Shot!!!   OMG!  A must have for sure.
Then we stamped a regular whisper white envelope for one of our cards but I just HAD to show her how to use our NEW Diagonal Score plate for the Simply Scored to MAKE OUR OWN ENVELOPES!!

Can you say happy!?!?   In all honesty I think that being able to make my own envelopes with the new diagonal score plate is my most favorite thing of all.  This makes things so much easier!  I can colour co-ordinate them, I can use plain card stock or DSP.  Goodness, I can use flyers or magazine pages to do up envelopes.  Or even our brown paper that we get in our SU boxes when our orders come.  The ideas are endless.
Best of all THE MEASUREMENTS ARE INCLUDED!!  Yup that is right!
When you buy your diagonal score pad you get the directions for standard sized enveloped right with the score pad!  Schweeeeet!

I also had my most wonderful stampers order come in for her a few days before.  I had it ready and waiting for her and this is the thank you card I slipped in her order....with a matching envelope no less! ;-)

If you are loving the new Summer Smooches head on over to my online store and place your order TODAY!
They are ONLY available in APRIL and then they will be gone until the new catalogue comes out.
